Run for the Roses 2015

WELCOME GUESTS!!
We are so excited to bring you this fun blog hop featuring some Derby Themed projects.
Especially to one of our Hosts... Rhonda, because this event takes place in her hometown!!
We hope you will enjoy your time as you hop and that you feel
inspired to create some Derby Fun!

The Kentucky Derby, which first ran in 1875, is best known for the Horses, Kentucky Bourbon and the beautiful Derby Hats that are worn and takes place every year, the first Saturday in MAY. It is a two week long event... Imagine Mardi Gras to New Orleans if you will! It all starts with a kick off... THUNDER OVER LOUISVILLE, the biggest firework show in North America. In those two weeks there are many events that take place and many STARS visit and attend these events... a lot are fund raising events for some great charities. In addition to DERBY PARTIES folks here have at home!

I'm the 4th stop in the hop today.  You should have come from Dawn's   If you get distracted along the way, there's a complete lineup listed below.

I'm really excited to be apart of this great hop.  My brother-in-law's family has been involved in Quarter horse racing and my husbands family owned horses and have always used the event to gather and have a theme party.

 This year we are doing

B E E R  F E S T

A couple of weeks ago the invitations went out and asked each couple to bring their favorite flavor of beer

I used a few Paper Smooches stamp sets to create the front of the card.  I layered the beer mugs using a masking technique.

When my guest arrive the will receive 4 tags.  Three of them are stamped 1  2  and  3.  This is so they can put their place their bets on who's going to win.  The fourth tag is for them to keep so they can remember what their personal color is.

There will be a total of 13 people here for the Beer Fest.  I've used 13 different colors of paper so we each have a unique color.  And as a rule, the winner has to have his/her claim ticket.  You would be surprised how many times someone has thrown there winning ticket away and couldn't claim the familyfamily pool.

I used the Paper Smooches Deco Bag Die to create a pocket for each horse that is running.  When this post was wrote, we had two horses scratched and one alternate fill in.  Each person will place their tags in the pouch for the horse they believe will WIN, PLACE and SHOW.  Once the race is over we will pull the bags off and see who won the trifecta or if we just have a winner.

Now... if you'd like to be a LUCKY Winner of some goodies... please visit each designers blog and become a follower, leave a comment! Winner will be chosen and announced May 9th!
The complete line up is below and again THANKS for joining us!!!...

CBD - Anything Goes for Christmas

Anything Goes with a Twist - All Things Christmas!

Crafting by Designs has started their last Anything Goes Challenge for 2014.
For this month they have added a twist.

Anything Goes for Christmas
This month we have THREE wonderful sponsors

Prize: $10 credit to Etsy store

Prize: winners choice of 2 digis from Etsy store

and
Prize: 12 voucher to store

I used a great design from Aurora Wings, to create a cute thank you card.  During the Holiday Season I come home to gifts left on the porch by friends that try to stop by when we are away from home.  When something like this happens, I like to send them a Thank You card to let them know that we have received the gift and very thankful of their kindness.  The Penguin with the Santa hat was just perfect for this.

Here's the full card.  I wanted him to look like he was on an Iceberg or something.  Husband said it looks like a patch of grass.

I used some CTMH Clear Sparkle glue for the ball and band on his hat.

I added a little extra sparkle to the candy cane with some clear Wink of Stella.

Overall I'm pretty happy with how this quick thank you card has turned out.

CBD Give Thanks Challenge

Hi Everyone!  Thanksgiving is just a couple of weeks
away here in the U.S. and this week's challenge on the Crafting by Designs Blog is to create a project  that shows something that you are thankful for.

We have two awesome sponsors for the challenge, first up Sami Stamps and second Diane's Daydream Designs. Both are offering fabulous prizes.

And if you wouldn't mind, please share something or someone you are thankful for. For me, I'm extremely Thankful for my Family.  They have really been a rock for me this past year and I'm very lucky to have them.

Prize - $12 credit to store

I used two images from Diane's Daydream Designs to create this quick Thanksgiving dinner invitation.

I used the Jaded Blossom Ticket Book Die to create the base of the invitation and cut two of them.  I glued the stub ends together and then tied some twine around the end.

Here's a look at the inside.  I will print the time and place information on a sheet of clear labels and stick on the inside of my invites.

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to enter your Thankful creation in this weeks Crafting By Designs Challenge.

Quick Halloween Card

Happy Halloween to everyone.  I hope you all have a fun and safe holiday.

I just had to have an awesome Lawn Fawn Spooktacular stamp set.  Then after I purchased it I realized that I don't usually make Halloween cards.  Me and my terrible buying habits.  So I decided that I would use the stamp and send a card to my son.  I won't be seeing him on Halloween this year so I would just add it to his care package.

I started with embossing the spiderweb on to the purple cardstock and then running some black ink over it so it would show up a little more.  I used the A Muse Studio Classic Tag die and Boo Stamp set for the sentiment.  The pattern paper and twine is from Doodlebug.  I stamped the images from the Lawn Fawn set and colored them in with Copics.

Mike was happy with his card....and all the Reese's Peanutbutter Cups.

Happy Halloween.

Create - Craft - Share YouTube Hop October

Hello Everyone.

I'm glad you could stop by today and join us for the Create*Craft* Share YouTube Hop.  This month we are creating Halloween Decore` projects.  This month I created two separate banners.

The first one I used my sewing machine.  I have it hung in my living room.

The second  banner I created using material, iron-on pellon and fabric glue.  This banner was created with some pre-printed material  I just had to iron on the pellon, trim with pinking wheel and glue together.

Thanks for stopping by today.  To take a look at all the stops in today's YouTube hop, here's a complete list of the YouTube Channels.

Getting Ready for Christmas

Hello Everyone.  Today Crafting by Design is starting a new challenge.  Each month we create a Christmas card so when we reach December we already have a few of our cards done and don't stress out over creating a bunch of cards.

This week we are being sponsored by Just a Few Lines digital stamps.

I created a cute little card with the digital stamp Seeing Santa

I used the Penny Black Christmas Story background stamp to create the background on the white paper.  The tree is from the Amuse Studio Winter Stag set.
